Is Versailles worth a full day?
Yes — the Palace interior alone takes 2–3 hours with a guide. The gardens (800 hectares, Grand Canal, Trianon palaces) require the afternoon. Book for a fountain day (April–October, selected days) when the baroque water features run — it transforms the experience. Discovery Escapes pre-books Versailles on fountain days wherever possible.
What is the private Louvre morning experience?

When is the best time to visit Paris?
October is the finest month — extraordinary golden autumn light, the cultural calendar at its fullest, summer crowds entirely gone. June is also excellent: warm (22–26°C), the city energised, long evenings. Avoid August 10–20 when many Parisians leave and some neighbourhood restaurants close.
